A classic game for any number of players of any age! Shut The Box is ideal for helping children to learn numeracy and practice mental arithmatic and strategic thinking.
This set is made of wood, with a flet lined tray for rolling the dice. This is a simple dice-throwing game which is addictive and fun for children and adults.
How to play? Pop all the numbers (1-9) up to open the boxes. Roll the 2 dice and "shut" the number boxes that equal the total of the dice roll. For example, a roll totaling 5 allows the player to shut either 1 and 4, 2 and 3, or just 5.
The player then rolls the dice again, aiming to shut as many numbers as possible. This continues until the player cannot shut any available numbers, at which point they score one point per number uncovered.
If the player manages to cover all the numbers in the game, they have "Shut the Box"! Otherwise play passes to the next player, and after everyone takes a turn the lowest score wins.
Recommended for ages 6 years and upwards.
Jollys says "Simple yet oh so addictive! This is a really nicely made version of the game which will last for years."
